Abandoned Places Around the World
Explored an abandoned Victorian mansion in Cincinnati, Ohio, the A.E. Burckhardt Mansion, built in 1886 by architect Samuel Hannaford. This unique mansion boasts 33 rooms, 10 bathrooms, and numerous fireplaces but sadly is deteriorating. A.E. Burckhardt, a German immigrant and successful fur trader, commissioned the mansion. The mansion, once a site of lavish receptions, now sits empty and decaying, condemned by the city in 2011. Despite efforts by a neighbor to protect it, the mansion awaits restoration. Architecturally, it blends Victorian, Queen Anne, and Romanesque styles.
